Have A Fabulous Channukah.

So all you Jewish girls, let's be honest. We are so jealous of all those people decorating their houses with gorgeous glittered decor and luminous christmas lights. Walk into a party store, and look in the Hannukah aisle, you will find birthday style "Happy Hannukah" foil signs and cheesy blue plastic Stars of Davids! Who said the Star of David has anything to do with Channukah??? It is frusterating, and since I love the holidays and love entertaining, I decided to go on a mission and find a way to have just as much fun decorating my house so that I too can experience the holiday atmosphere. And ladys let me tell you, mission accomplished! You dont need to hang signs that scream "Happy Hannuka" And not every piece of decor has to have a Star of David or a dreidel on it. It's all about keeping with the, obvious Jewish colors of blue and white but giving it all a chic makeover.

Garland, Ornaments. I always wanted to hang them in my house but was always afraid that it would look too christmasy, so here are some of my ideas.

Hang stringed ornaments from the ceiling straight down, on the side of open doorways like the entrance to your dining room or in the corners of your living room.
Target 15 ct. Blue/White Ornament Set $8.09

Lined horizontally under your fireplace or diningroom buffet, this simple but chic ornament garland will add sparkle and a holiday feel to your house.

Pottery Barn Silver Ornament Garland $69.00

Mix these beautiful crystally beads on strings to hang from floor lamps for an illuminated look, or loosely across windows for a natural light effect.
Left: Oriental Trading Blue Topaz Cut Glass Crystal Bicone Bead Mix (48pc) $4.48
Right: Oriental Trading Blue Acrylic Faceted Beads $7.99

Holiday up your kitchen or kids room with fun blue assorted wall borders.
Oriental Trading Blue Paper Ribbons (5 Assorted) $4.99

Candles, Centerpieces and Vases. Scatter these around your house to give an instant Channukah update. Place them on your dining room table for a sparkling Channuka party. And even during the day when you arent eating, keep them there so that the natural light from the windows will make them glow. Position another on a side table, or on your kitchen counter to remind you that the holiday spirit is in the air.

Fill tall glass vases like these with blue and silver ornaments (forget the other colors, or it will really look like christmas) for some fab shimmer.

Ornaments like this can be found cheap by the bag at craft stores like Michaels, as well as the vases.

Place these BLUE votives by each place setting at your Channuka table
Pottery Barn Antique Mercury-Glass Votive Holders $24.00

Not all your holiday decor has to be blue. This shimmery champagne tinted hurricane is perfect for a golden glow. Just add a fat white candle inside and the magic happens.
Target Small Hurricane- Amber $14.99

I am in love with these vases becuase they are rimmed with this silver trim that gives extra pizzaz to a typical vase, and the best part is you can use them year round. Just fill different sizes with groups of white flowers like orchids. It will be a fresh approach to Channukah decorating.
Pottery Barn Platinum Bosphorous Vases $29.00-$49.00

This ombre style vase is stunning and will light up a room with a blue hue.
Target Glass Hurricane-Style Candleholder- Blue $25.49

Silver and white is automatic holiday decor! And these look like they are wrapped in lushious raw silk!
Pottery Barn Striped Glitter Pillar Candles $6.00-$8.00

Table, Entertaining Etc.
I never said the Star of David is bad, I just dont think it should be plastered everywhere. This cookie and dessert platter incorporates the Jewish feel in a subtle way. Nevermind that the platter itself is beautiful, this will be perfect to serve your jelly doughnuts on!
Target Tiered Serving Tray $22.49

This is the cutest serving platter ever. Lots Of Latkes! :) Love it. The middle dish is for a dip I guess. But what do you dip latkes into?

This silver textured platter will sparkle under your dishes.

Nothing Hannukah about these napkin rings, but they are clear and they will sparkle, and sparkle during the holidays is what you want.
Crate & Barrel Spun Metal Napkin Rings $1.95 each.

Cookie Cutters! I love cookie cutters. Cut round cookies and use these for the middle cut out, or bake these shaped cookies up and ice them blue and white.
Crate & Barrel Hannukah Cookie Cutters $3.95 set.

Personalize your table with these chic dreidel place card holders.
Crate & Barrel Dreidel Placecard Holders $19.95

Menorahs, Menorahs. I am so sick of the ones made out of wood, or the really big gaudy ones. These are super gorgeous and modern.
