Ruffles and feathers, feathers and ruffles. Frou frou is floating down the runway. On everything from belts, to necklines, bags and shoes, these feminine touches are everywhere. Ruffles which date back to the Renaissance, make us feel just like that period, giving us an air of importance and elegance. Done an over the top ruffled blouse with a velvet blazer and pencil skirt to rule your stylish command to the office. Or dress a printed or plaid ruffled blouse down with wide legged 70's inspired jeans and some ethnic bangles and you can strut the street looking like a cool jetsetter. The ticklish coy play of feathers, teases our senses this season in ever color. From deep plums, rich teals and african inspired browns and tans, feathers update any ensemble. If feathers dont really tickle your fancy, just wear a small feathered brooch on your lapel, tuck a few in the center of your belt or wear a feathered hair piece ;) in your hair to keep up with the trend. If you are loving the feathered look and have the cash to shell out, go with my favorite piece, the feathered skirt from MK and Ashley Olsen's line Elizabeth and James. Sport it with a silk black blouse or rock it with a leather jacket and you will break necks as you make your grand entrance. They even have a fully feathered vest that will look amazing over a long sleeve top and jeans for a boho look. Push up your sleeves so it looks effortless and not over thought. Whichever way you decide to wear these trends, wearing them will send you straight to the front of the fall fashion line.
